Exquisite feline art by Karen Cannon
Folks have always been intrigued with the richly detailed backgrounds, artistic lighting, and classic feel of my paintings. Of course countless hours go into the creation of a composition like that -- so my commissioned portrait prices reflected those hours, making the cost prohibitive in most cases.
Now, I've perfected a technique that allows me to offer
an affordable alternative to my traditionally-created pastel paintings. With the use of digitizing stylus instead of a paintbrush, I am able to streamline the entire painting process. Please know that the work is ENTIRELY created from my own freehand strokes. With every brushstroke I make, the stylus translates that information into the 1s and 0s my system understands. It allows me to greatly zoom in on my work (hence the incredible detail), make changes more readily, and resize the final art. Then the information is sent on to my 48" wide canvas printer. Again, this is totally freehand art -- The computer is merely a tool, much as a chef would use a food processor to expedite the creation of his gourmet entree.
You simply select the background of your choice and submit a clear photo of your cat(s), which I skillfully paint into the scene. Or, if you prefer, I will paint a custom background. This is not a Photoshop filter, nor other off-the-shelf program. In other words... THIS IS NOT A CUT-AND-PASTE GIMMICK!
The result is a one-of-a-kind portrait of heirloom quality, presented on artist's stretched canvas. When folks admire your new feline masterpiece, you can proudly say ...
"That's My Cat!"
